United States Military Knives and Bayonets, Price Guide |
|
Price guide of US bayonets and knives, as all price guides it is out of date as soon as it is printed as prices are driven up by rarity definition, but a useful toolfor comparisons if nothing else,.. |

An excellent book on the UK 1888 and 1903 pattern bayonets, lots of examples and documentation on orders, scabbards, bayonets etc. A very in depth examination of the type |

Deutsche Versuchs-und Musterseitengewehre von 1895 bis 1945 |
|
A German language book on German Bayonets from 1895 to 1945, has great detail on less well covered bayonets such as the snake crossguard trials 98 bayonets and the SG42, could do with more pictures for us language handicapped people but if you know German then this a great book to have, for others the pictures that are there are fantastic quality and full color worth having it just for them if you are keen. |

LICHTENSTEIN |
|
|
Lichtenstein's oldest trooper, he has a Scharfschützen- Büchse and Hirschfänger System Wild on his rifle and the one on his belt is a Jägerbüchse 1862 for Liechtenstein. (Thanks to Sebastien for identifying these bayonets. The following two pictures and text came from the bayonet network
The Liechtenstein Army was disbanded in 1868 when this old man, Kieber was 24 years old.
He was born the 8 of Octobre 1844 probably at the same time the Wildsche Büchse was adopted by Lichtenstein.
He participated 1866 as Scharfschütze in the Austrian/ Prussian war
Kieber died 19. April 1939. (courtesy of Bo Amsfelder)

Shoulder Belt Suspension Swivel Mounted S73 |
|
Reilly suggests that this was an experimental mounting system, as it was made after the abandonment of shoulder belts in the 1830' and 40's. The brass swivel allowed the bayonet to be mounted on a shoulder hanger but still allowed for 135degrees of rotation while mounted.. There are no marks to indicate maker etc. on this item. |

This cadet scabbard includes an additional belt loop stud that takes a strap the end of the strap appears to be broken and I am not sure |
Martini Peabody 8 Rivet scabbard S123 |
|
S123 in Reilly this scabbard was made for the Peabody-Martini bayonet made in the late 1870's. Most of these were supplied to Turkey but some were used by Navy and National Guard unites during WWI. |
None riveted Socket Scabbard |
|
The first scabbards for the 1855 period bayonets came with an all stitched frog, this one has been roughly repaired and I think the throat stitching is incorrect and should not be a Blanket stitch. Marked Richmond is this a repro? |

Impossible to tell the exact pattern due to the removal of the rear of the socket. This is probably for training purposes and is a modification I have seen often on a variety of socket bayonets. The fuller on the top blade the shape of the blade etc. however indicate it is from this series of similar bayonets. |
